Botox® treatment may now be an answer for patients with severe sweating of the underarms, hands, or feet. This FDA-approved procedure offers up to six months of continuous relief in many cases of hyperhidrosis, and is covered by most insurance companies. If you are interested in learning more about Botox® for hyperhidrosis, speak with your clinician. View more on hyperhidrosis at www.sweathelp.org.

Photodynamic Light Therapy (PDT) using Blu-U® light is a new and effective treatment for precancerous lesions, or actinic keratoses. This procedure is extremely effective and may cause fewer side effects than other, older treatments. Blu-U® light is also an effective therapy for acne in patients who desire treatment with no systemic medications. Both of these procedures are done by our staff in our cosmetic suite. For more information or to see if these treatments are right for you, speak with your clinician.

Skin cancer is a very real fear for many people. At Dermatology Associates, our offices are equipped as surgical suites, allowing us to perform most biopsies and excisions of suspicious and known cancerous lesions on site. Your clinician will give you detailed instructions on preparing for your visit and caring for the treated area after the procedure.

Evaluation of Specimens

Evaluation of our patients' specimens when a biopsy or surgical excision is needed is performed exclusively by Caris Cohen DX. All of their physicians are double-board certified in Dermatology and Dermatopathology. This ensures that reports are read accurately and within the important clinical context of the individual patient. View Caris Cohen DX's web site. Please note that a separate fee for the processing and interpretation of your biopsy specimen is billed to you, or, if applicable, to your insurance provider. This is not included in the fee for your office visit.
